Gwanghwamun Square

Autumn Exhibition

The media project 《Seoul Standard Time》: Autumn Exhibition (2025.9.21.~12.19.) will be held here in the Hechi Madangchyard.
The project aims to reflect on Seoul today as a global leader in time, and to imagine the city we will build together.

Nature, Autumn: Dream of the Whale - The Crossing Lab

is about a whale's journey across a deep sea and a wide sky. Subtle sunlight dissipates over the waves, and whales emerging under the calm surface of the water head for a golden sky, moving between the boundaries of reality and fantasy. The surreal gestures that follow the whale's singing briefly take us away from the weight of our daily lives, and lead us beyond our imagination.

Seoul, Artist Hechi

Hechi marks a sunny autumn day by taking a walk through the culture and art of Seoul. It features Hechi's day in the art museum, enjoying art works with friends, busking on the streets, and taking a break from the daily lives of busy cities and being colored with inspiration and thought.

People, Irworobongdo: A Civic Landscape - Hahm Chaewon

is a citizen-participating work that reinterprets traditional Korean folding screens in a modern way. The screen changes seamlessly with the passage of time and seasons and permeates our daily lives. Taking the form of an open folding screen, this work shows the landscape of Seoul that citizens today create in harmony with traditional paintings.

Art, Common Fluxus - Common Fluxus - AHA Collective

starts with citizens' steps to and from Gwanghwamun Square. This movement, in which one person's steps gather and flow, is not just a movement, but reveals the rhythm of each person in different times. The traces of passing and intersecting at different speeds vary in color and plane, reminding us Jogakbo, a traditional patchwork attached with small pieces of cloth. Furthermore, the movement in the work connects with the steps of people passing in front of the media wall, forming a common flow in which reality and virtuality meet.

Media Art @ Haechi Lounge is presented every day from 8 AM to 10 PM.

The ‘Media Wall at Gwanghwamun Square’, installed with 53m-wide Full HD panels, is a media art platform where citizens can enjoy media artworks.
The Media Wall exhibits various media artworks created by artists and citizens alike all year round.
